Trying to pay VRT on the bike

Sometimes abiding by the law isn`t such an easy thing, this was definitely the case when attempting to pay the VRT ( Vehicle Registration Tax ) on my Rvf.

Because Ì`ve planned to invest a fair amount of money into my bike and plan to drive it alot when the weather is right, the last thing I want to happen is to be pulled over by the local law enforcers and have them take my pride and joy away just because its still on English license plates. Paying the Vrt on it is easier said than done nowadays though, with new regulations brought in on valuations etc.
Told by the local police that the vehicle tax office was the place to go, I set off only to que up and be told "they dont deal with it anymore", long story short the receptionist told me I had to pay the VRT at a specific NCT center, no suprises when I got there I was told that they dont deal with it and was given a phone number to ring, which is believe it or not "out of service"

No wonder so many people break the law on a daily basis when they make them so hard to follow!

  2. hi mate.
im gonna be doing pretty much the same thing, i have a rvf track bike which is pretty tricked (69bhp) and have just sold my sp1 and replaced it with a rvf.
i used to have one a few years ago which was standard apart from exhaust and i regret getting rid.
anyway, im gonna start the rvf project after xmas, wantig to do a tyga kit pipe etc,
was looking on tyga site and they do a kit ready painted for under £1200, im interested but would have liked a bit of a special job, but gonna see what happens.
when i get a little more time ill send some pics.
